Our History

Proclaiming His Word Fellowship was birthed when God placed a burden in the hearts of founding Pastors Concepcion (Boo) and Gwen Mouliert to plant a church in Southern New Jersey.

Boo, a plumber by trade, hosted home Bible studies and actively served at his local church. Gwen, an established speaker, ministered at conferences and women’s meetings through her ministry Proclaiming His Word. Taking the church’s name from Gwen’s ministry, they gathered in a small meeting room at a local Pleasantville hotel for their first Sunday service in 1992. The church began to quickly grow, adding weekly Bible studies, children’s and youth programs and many other outreaches.

PHWF now has facilities that include a large sanctuary, meeting rooms and an attached 10,000 square foot building with a gymnasium. It has grown into a multicultural congregation of Christ followers who together share God’s love with the community.

We Believe . . .

the Scriptures are inspired by God and are God’s revelation to man. The Bible is the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, I Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

there is only one true God, revealed in three distinct persons – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit – also known as “trinity”. (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 14:16-17)

in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ as God’s son was both human and divine. (Matthew 1:23, Hebrews 7:26, Acts 2:22, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Matthew 28:6, Acts 1:9-11)

man willingly fell to sin, though he was created good, for God said, "Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness." Thereby he incurred physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 2:17, Romans 5:12-19)

salvation is necessary for all men. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:3, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Titus 3:5-7)

in the practice of two ordinances – (1) Water Baptism by immersion after repentance of sins and receiving Christ as Savior and (2) Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, as the symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4); (1 Corinthians 11:26)

the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience all believers are entitled to, which empowers believers for witnessing and effective service. (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

the Church has a Mission to turn people lost in their sin into mature followers of Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23, Hebrews 12:23, 1 Corinthians 14:12)

Divine Healing from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:14-16)

the Blessed Hope (or Rapture) when all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:13, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
